Design Play Days
DESIGN PLAY DAYS
A set of interactive educational experiences designed for the National Gallery of Victoria and hundreds of school-aged children in Victora, Design Play Days explores design and sustainability in a fun, interactive format.
The Design Play Days saw over 250 students be challenged to three high-energy creative thinking and design for sustainability projects, from building Truss Bridges using toothpicks and lollies, to mapping the life cycle of different t-shirts,to creating self-propelled vehicles out of waste collected from the NGV.
The educational experience was designed to explore flexible thinking and sustainability problem solving as well as to show these young people just how fun design, science, and engineering can be. A total of three Design Play Days were run over summer 2013/2014 in collaboration with NGV Education Team.
